My experience with non-profit organizations

A previous experience I have had in business was volunteering for non-profit organizations. I have volunteered at a variety of non-profit organizations including different charities and religious organizations, but the one I spent the most time volunteering for was a nursing home in Allentown, Pa. I started volunteering around the age of twelve. The facility is called Phoebe Nursing Home. It is a non-profit organization, this means that they are not in business to make a profit, they are in business to help others and to be generous. My experience with Phoebe Nursing Home was a positive one because I enjoy devoting time to a business that I know is working to help others rather than themselves.

Volunteering is so generous and is such a great example of a great business experience. I have volunteered before too--not at a nursing home but with children, and you really get a sense of accomplishment when you volunteer. It feels right all the time! I really admire people who volunteer because it shows your dedication to a good cause.

I live near Allentown! I'm from Bethlehem :). And i agree with chelsea, volunteering is such a great experience and you should be proud of yourself that you could be a part of that kind of business aspect.

Volunteering is such a great thing. It takes special people to do work and only get appreciation in return. Especially if they don't appreciate it. I did some volunteer work with kids and the only thing they did was complain. Since most of the time the only reason you work is to get money it makes it hard if it's not appreciated.
